Job Title: Junior/Senior Staff Accountant, Full-timeJob Title: Junior or Senior Staff Accountant Job Type: Full-Time Location: Maspeth, New York (In-office position; hybrid remote possible after year two) SCHEDULE Regular Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a 4-day workweek (Fridays off) for approximately six months of the year during the non-tax season. Tax Season Hours (Feb 1 – Apr 15): Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–7 PM Extended hours, including Saturdays, are required during tax season. Salary Range: $65,000–$100,000 annually (commensurate with experience) Start Date: To Be Determined ABOUT US We are a well-established small accounting firm dedicated to providing personalized financial and tax services to our clients. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, supportive work environment that values professionalism, accuracy, and client satisfaction. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team. As you will be taking the lead on various client accounts, we’re looking for someone who can work independently and confidently manage client relationships and financial responsibilities. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a diverse range of clients, prepare financial records, handle tax filings, and provide strategic financial guidance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Management: Maintain accurate financial records for clients and prepare detailed reports, including reconciliations, balance sheets, and income statements using QuickBooks Online. Tax Preparation: Input and prepare individual and business tax returns using ProSeries, including complex returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals. Client Advising: Provide tax strategies and planning while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Audit Support: Assist clients with insurance audits (workers' compensation and liability) and other financial reviews. Client Communication: Engage professionally and promptly with clients and stakeholders to address financial inquiries. Bookkeeper Management: Collaborate with in-house bookkeepers to ensure accurate, up-to-date records. Review quarterly bookkeeping, adjust coding, and make journal entries as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred, not required) CPA or Enrolled Agent (preferred, not required) Experience: 5+ years in private or public accounting or a related field Strong experience in tax planning and preparation for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts Proficient in preparing and filing 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041, 1040 returns, sales tax filings, FBAR filings, and conducting tax research Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Intuit ProSeries Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, formatting, data import/export) Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) Familiarity with CRM and document management systems Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities Attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team Why Join Us?
